Patient Care Coordinator (Medical Supplies)

Palatine, IL
Full Time
Mid Level

Are you a natural communicator who thrives on bridging the gap between complex requirements and exceptional patient care?

European Service at Home, Inc. is seeking a high-caliber Intake & Clinical Liaison to serve as our Medical Supplies Execution Lead. In this role, you aren’t just processing paperwork; you are the "Engine" of our workflow. You serve as the vital link between a physician’s clinical intent, the distribution of essential medical supplies, and the specialized world of insurance compliance.

The Mission: You are responsible for the "perfect start." This means proactively partnering with doctors to secure accurate prescriptions and ensuring every patient receives equipment backed by the documentation required for business success. You will work at the heart of our operation, collaborating daily with our Order Processing and Billing teams to ensure excellence from intake to final payment.
Pay Rate:$22-$23

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Advocacy & Communication: Serve as a compassionate guide for our aging population and Medicaid recipients, ensuring they feel supported while you navigate their coverage requirements.
  • Strategic Lead Processing: Own the end-to-end journey of incoming leads. Perform clinical triage to ensure equipment perfectly matches the patient's medical condition.
  • Physician Partnership: Act as the primary contact for doctors. You will proactively call offices to acquire new prescriptions, clarify orders, and monitor expiring RXs to ensure care is never interrupted.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work in lockstep with Order Processing to hand off "clean" files and consult with Billing to resolve any documentation gaps.
  • Precision Documentation: Enter accurate customer details, craft medical necessity narratives, and assign billing codes to ensure "first-pass" claim success.
  • Smart Product Selection: Use our Product Guide to recommend solutions that satisfy medical necessity while securing the best margins for the organization.
  • Technical Quality Control: Utilize software to perform audits and manage complex authorization requests via government and insurance portals.
  • Drop Shipping Coordination: Manage end-to-end logistics for our drop shipping model, ensuring seamless coordination between vendors and patients for timely equipment delivery.

Who You Are

  • Service-Oriented: You have a heart for the elderly and the patience to help Medicaid members navigate a complex healthcare system.

  • A Lifelong Learner: You are "coachable," eager to master the DME industry, and view feedback as a tool for growth.

  • A Natural Problem-Solver: You enjoy "detective work", identifying why a process stalled and implementing a permanent fix.

  • Composed & Organized: You remain flexible and function at your best in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required).

  • Experience: Background in healthcare coordination, pharmacy, or medical billing is preferred, but we will train a high-potential candidate with the right mindset.

  • Communication: Exceptional English verbal and written skills; experience speaking professionally with medical providers is a major plus.

  • Regulatory: Must possess a valid driver’s license and current vehicle insurance.
